Everyday starts with love

Everyday starts with Love and positivity.  Sometimes so much, my boys get sick of it.  ”Good Morning! How are you doing today?”

Realize, children are always learning.

If they see me make a mistake, I make sure to teach them how to behave in the same situation:  Accept responsibility and/or give a rational defense and apologize either way.

Always treat them with respect.  I ask them to help me w/ please & thank you (see: always learning, above).  When necessary they can be told.  But that is always a last resort if they couldn’t wait the pro’s & con’s well enough themselves.

Everything is a team effort, everything is a team goal.  First part of good team work is good communication and tor prepare for success ahead of time.  Such as, whenever we’re leaving the house for any reason, we start with making a plan.  Where we’re going for and how much extra time we might have.  This is done w/ the boys because so often they have valuable input.  Such as “oh, if we’re going there, can we stop at the pet store too?”  Of course, they always seem to remember the things that are most important to themselves first, though I am trying to train them out of that habit.

Such as, on Saturday as we were leaving my mom’s house, Austin remembered to remind us to stop at Wendy’s to get my mom a salad.  While we were their, I got them both a frosty too, since he had thought of something he could do for his grandma first.
